PEN Photon Energy Group announces the appointment of David Forth as Group CFO
The Management Board of Photon Energy Group (‘The Group’) announces that the Board of Directors has appointed David Forth as Group Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 February 2024. David Forth will take over this position from Georg Hotar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Group, who assumed the responsibilities of Interim CFO on 12 May 2023. Mr. Forth will report directly to the Board of Directors of Photon Energy Group.
David Forth is a British national who has gained extensive experience in various international businesses working in top managerial positions. Mr. Forth holds a British Chartered Accountant (FCA) certificate, qualifying with KPMG’s London Office, and a Bachelor Degree in Law from Queen Mary University of London. His early career was with British Petroleum (BP), where he was quickly promoted through accounting, controlling and M&A roles to become Finance Director of a large Canadian mining subsidiary. Later, he was appointed Group Finance Director of BP’s Consumer Products Division, a division with manufacturing and sales operations in six European countries. After BP, Mr. Forth held senior finance roles with BAT, Schneider and Adecco, working in Brazil, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, before moving into interim management. His Interim Management Finance Director experience included roles with companies such as Mothercare, Costa Coffee, Dr Martens, Eddie Stobart and AB Sugar. Interim CFO roles include positions with, among others, Cake Box plc and Eurowag (W.A.G. Payment Solutions plc); both companies quoted on the London Stock Exchange. In his new role as CFO of the Photon Energy Group, Mr. Forth will focus his efforts on the development of a financial strategy to address the business growth opportunities that Photon Energy Group is currently pursuing while ensuring that the Group’s financial position remains strong to deliver this strategy for shareholder value creation in line with ESG principles.
