Trybunał Konstytucyjny w Rumunii unieważnił lipcowe głosowanie w sprawie odwołania centroprawicowego prezydenta Traiana Basescu.
Minister spraw wewnętrznych Rumunii Ioan Rus ogłosił, że dla własnego honoru podał się do dymisji z powodu wywieranych na niego nacisków.
Rezultat referendum okazał się pyrrusowym zwycięstwem prezydenta Traiana Basescu, ponieważ utrzymał on stanowisko, ale tylko dzięki słabej frekwencji.
